چکیده

Atterberg limits are broadly used for engineering and geology purposes as well in agricultural environmental applications. Laboratory methods their determination are, however, laborious, destructive tool dependent. The aim of this study was to test the feasibility using visible near-infrared spectroscopy (vis–NIRS) a fast accurate alternative conventional measurements (LL PL) PI 229 geographically diverse soil samples originating from 24 countries. Three types calibration techniques including Partial Least Squares (PLS) regression, Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) Support Vector Machines (SVM) were applied spectral data. performance best vis–NIRS models validated 45 independent compared with two existing one newly developed pedotransfer functions (PTF). application SVM yielded marginally better predictive ability than PLS ANN all modelled properties. estimated LL, PL, root mean squared error (RMSE) 7%, 5% respectively. PTF gave slightly estimations ones, RMSE values 8%, 6%, respectively PI. Furthermore, terms sample swelling class, model correctly classified 31 samples, 34 PTF. results indicate great potential reliable estimates large geographical mineralogical diversity.

Estimating Surface Reflectance Functions from Tristimulus Values

Information about the spectral reflectance of a color surface is useful in many applications. Assuming that reflectance functions can be adequately approximated by a linear combination of a small number of basis functions, we address here the recovery of a surface reflectance function, given the tristimulus values under one or more illuminants.

Estimating Nitrogen and Acid Detergent Fiber Contents of Grass Species using Near Infrared Reflectance Spectroscopy (NIRS)

Chemical assessments of forage clearly determine the forage quality; however, traditional methods of analysis are somehow time consuming, costly, and technically demanding. Near Infrared Reflectance Spectroscopy (NIRS) has been reported as a method for evaluating chemical composition of agriculture products, food, and forage and has several advantages over chemical analyses such as conducting c...

Scale-Dependent Pedotransfer Functions Reliability for Estimating Saturated Hydraulic Conductivity

Saturated hydraulic conductivity Ksat is a fundamental characteristic in modeling flow and contaminant transport in soils and sediments. Therefore, many models have been developed to estimate Ksat from easily measureable parameters, such as textural properties, bulk density, etc. However, Ksat is not only affected by textural and structural characteristics, but also by sample dimensions e.g., i...

developing pedotransfer functions for saline and saline-alkali soils

soil moisture retention curve is one of the soil hydraulic prosperities which its direct measurement is time consuming and expensive. therefore, indirect methods such as developing pedotransfer functions have been used to predict this characteristic from soil readily available or easily measurable data. in this study, multiple linear regression method was used to develop point pedotransfer func...
